TAEKWONDO, with its literal translation as “the art of kicking and punching”, is the worlds most practiced martial art. Tae means “to kick”, Kwon means “to punch” and Do means “the art” or more correctly, “a way of life”. Taekwondo is also an Olympic sport.

DeVito’s TaeKwonDo Academy is committed to providing the best martial arts experience in the area. With programs designed specifically for students from the age of 4 to adults, DeVito’s TaeKwonDo has it all with classes that are exciting, energetic, challenging and fun.
If students choose to, they can challenge themselves, through the sport aspect of Taekwondo, by competing in both local and national competitions.

The FIVE TENETS of TAEKWONDO

  • COURTESY--being POLITE, RESPECTFUL, and HUMBLE

  • INTEGRITY—always striving to do the right thing.
    Being RESPONSIBLE and HONEST

  • PERSEVERANCE—never giving up no matter the challenge. Be PATIENT and PERSISTENT

  • SELF-CONTROL—controlling your impulses.
    Show DISCIPLINE and DISCRETION

  • INDOMITABLE SPIRIT—maintaining focus through courage, strength, and determination.

These five Tenets serve as a guide to the students to help them excel in the art, the sport, and, most importantly, in life.
